A Famine for the Senses

A Famine for the Senses is a system-agnostic series of modules meant to slot into any existing system.
While the series was written with a modern or science fiction setting in mind, with slight edits it could easily be used in a fantasy setting as well. The main draw is the gameplay mechanisms. Each module either takes away or weaponizes a different player sense.
- A team's non-verbal communication skills are pushed to the breaking point in Operation Jazz Singer (Hearing)
- An imperceptible threat stalks the warehouse aisles in Medusa Protocol (Sight)
- A thorny situation may bring a hazmat response team to tears in A Scent into Madness (Smell)
- A delicate touch at the controls of a prototype killing machine is required in Bos Taurus and the Porcelain Mercantile (Touch)
- Unusual activity at a decommissioned bottling plant forces unpalatable decisions in Dread in Tooth and Claw (Taste)
- Losing sense of one's place in the world quickly leaves a team unmoored in Swap Meat (Proprioception)
Each module acts as a game-master screen, with all the background information required for players on one side, and everything needed by the game operator on the other. For remote play sessions, or if any of the players have difficulty viewing the module from a distance, the player-facing side can be digitally distributed.

My name is Matt Olsen, and in my real job, I sell knives.
During a game jam for "The Company: Survival Horror" I learned that I really enjoy making content for game systems. I spent several months creating this series of truly unique experiences to inflict upon players. I sincerely hope you enjoy it, and the players have an experience they will never forget.
